Pricing

Single Room: $4,850 USD per person
Double Room: $4,400 USD per person
$1,000 USD donation to Gem Legacy

A $1,000 USD donation to Gem Legacy since March 1, 2024 is required per person or per couple traveling together. If you are a member of the jewelry industry and your company donates or has donated since March 1, 2024, all employees of that company may travel under that one donation.

Deposit
A deposit of $800 USD per person will be required upon registration. Full amount of trip will be required 12 weeks prior to travel.

Please contact us if you would like to be placed with a roommate.

Cancellation Policy
You can cancel and receive a full refund (including deposit) up to 12 weeks prior to the trip’s departure date.

Flight Details

The Recommended Flights are outlined below, however you may fly on any airline or schedule you desire that:

arrives in Nairobi (NBO) before 12 midnight on July 25
departs from Kilimanjaro (JRO) after 5:30pm on August 4 (or any following day)

Recommended Flights:

ARRIVAL: Qatar QR1341 departing from Doha (DOH), arriving Nairobi (NBO) 11:50pm on July 25.

DEPARTURE: Qatar flight KQ427, departing from Kilimanjaro (JRO) at 6:20pm on August 4.

Flying on a separate flight may incur a separate transportation fee to/from the airport.

Pricing Details

Includes: hotels, transportation to and from airport with recommended flight, entry to all mines, meals

Price does not include and travelers should be prepared to incur additional costs:
– visas ($134)
– immunizations (varies based on shots needed, location, and some are covered by insurance)
– tips (approx. $100)
– travel insurance (varies)
– airfare
– alcohol
– gifts
– transportation to hotel if not flying with recommended flight (varies)

You do not need to be a member of the jewelry industry to join the trip.

Travel visas for Tanzania and Kenya are to be completed by the traveler, however instructional emails will be sent to guide completion.

Checklists and informational emails will be provided in the months leading up to the trip to help with packing and preparation for the trip.

Travelers will be encouraged to pack snacks for lunch on 3 days because there are not dining options in the bush. This will be outlined in the instruction emails.
