Our adventures are very friendly to all fitness levels! The only physically strenuous activity is visiting artisanal gem mines and it is up to you if or how far you would like to venture! When visiting mines bathrooms will not be available during the day and curated bathrooms stops in nature will be provided.

You’ll have firsthand, authoritative experience at the source of how gem mining takes place in East Africa, a gem-rich region. As well, when a consumer asks if gems harm those who mine them, you’ll be able to show them that, when performed responsibly, artisanal and small-scale gem mining is legitimate work, and sometimes the only way people can earn a living in certain regions.

No, but there may be extra costs for transportation to the city/hotel and the guide may not be available to meet you at the airport.

We do not require our travelers to be vaccinated, however Kenya requires all travelers entering the country to be vaccinated.

You can cancel and receive a full refund (including deposit) up to 12 weeks prior to the trip’s departure date.

The hardness level will vary, but a range of hardness levels will be offered (tunnel, open pit, etc.) so that every traveler will feel included. Even without traveling inside a mine, there is much to be seen and learned from the outside of a mine or taking just a few steps inside.

All hotels will offer wifi and hot water.

Travelers should expect to go to the bathroom outdoors among bushes while on long drives in rural areas to visit initiatives or gem mines. “Curated” outdoor bathroom locations will be planned for privacy and comfort.
