Day 1
AUGUST ARRIVAL: Qatar QR1431 departing from Doha (DOH), arriving Nairobi (NBO) 11:50pm on July 25.
Sleep in Nairobi
Recommended Group Flight: You may choose an airline and flight of your choice arriving at a different time on this day or an earlier day, but not later.
Day 2
Safari in Nairobi National Park
Enjoy rooftop pool in the afternoon
Day 3
Day 4
Tour Gem Mines in Southern Kenya (Tsavorite Garnet and Green Tourmaline expected)
Hardness Level: Varies, Easy & Medium
Day 5
Tour Gem Mines in Southern Kenya (Tsavorite Garnet and Green Tourmaline expected)
Hardness Level: Varies, Easy & Medium
Drive to Marangu, Tanzania (foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro)
Day 6
Enjoy sunrise over Mount Kilimanjaro
Take a walking tour of Marangu village and experience the Chagga tribe culture
Tour and climb into a 20-year continually working Tanzanite Mine
Hardness Level: Hard
Day 8
Drive to Ngorongoro Crater, Tanzania
Afternoon off: enjoy lodge and pool
Day 9
Full Day Game Drive in the Ngorongoro Crater, Ngorongoro Conservation Area
Day 9
Drive to Arusha, Tanzania
Afternoon off: select from optional activities
- walking/hiking
- art museum and shopping excursion
- enjoy the lodge and pool
Day 10
Shopping Trip to Local Maasai Market
Visit Arusha Gem Faceting School
Depart Evening flights from JRO
AUGUST Recommended Group Flight: Qatar flight KQ427, departing from Kilimanjaro (JRO) at 6:20pm on August 4. You may choose to fly on a different airline departing this day any time after 5:30pm or on the following day, however transportation to the airport will be an additional fee of approximately $50.
